According to the Belvedere, tram D stops at Schloss Belvedere, and the S-Bahn, trams 18 and O stop at Quartier Belvedere. Metro line U1 stops at Südtiroler Platz / Hauptbahnhof, from where the official site gives a walk of about 15 minutes.
For the Lower Belvedere at Rennweg 6, tram 71 stops at Unteres Belvedere and tram D at Gußhaustraße. For Belvedere 21 at Arsenalstraße 1, go to Quartier Belvedere or take bus 69A to Arsenal. Timetables and fares change: check them with Wiener Linien and ÖBB.
The Karlskirche is about 1.0 km from the Upper Belvedere in a straight line and Schwarzenbergplatz about 0.8 km; part of the walk from there crosses the garden up to the palace. We estimate 20 to 25 minutes on foot from Karlsplatz, a figure we have not checked on the route. The Lower Belvedere is about 0.6 km from the Upper Belvedere, up or down the gardens.
The Hauptbahnhof is about 0.7 km away in a straight line, and the official site gives about 15 minutes on foot.
The ÖBB Railjet and Intercity trains run non-stop from the airport to Wien Hauptbahnhof in about 15 minutes, twice an hour according to wien.info; from there take the U1 or walk. These trains are not affected by the works.
From 7 September 2026 to the end of October 2027 the S-Bahn section between Praterstern and Hauptbahnhof is closed for works. The City Airport Train is replaced by premium buses to Wien Mitte / Landstraße, which do not serve the Hauptbahnhof, and the S7 runs only as far as St. Marx. The REX 7 reaches the Hauptbahnhof in about 20 minutes, and airport bus line 1 serves the Hauptbahnhof and Westbahnhof in about 40 minutes. From St. Marx, tram 18 goes towards Hauptbahnhof and Quartier Belvedere. We did not verify the fares: check them with ÖBB.
There is bicycle parking in the palace gardens, at the entrances on Prinz-Eugen-Straße and Landstraßer Gürtel, and a city-bike station and a charging point for electric cars nearby. By car, the Belvedere lists a six-hour parking discount at the BIP Palais Schwarzenberg and BIP Schwarzenbergplatz garages, not valid with the parking app. There are only a few parking spaces at Belvedere 21 during opening hours.
